ON THIS DAY in 1920, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled “Wreck of Union Bank Sold; Judgments and Stock Go for $6,320.”
The article focused on Union Bank being sold at an auction.
“The wreck of the Union Bank was sold at auction today by Frederick B. Snow of the Jere Johnson Company, and a few scraps of paper recalling the days when the Lafayette Trust Company was one of the financial bulwarks of Brooklyn were also knocked down by William J. McPhilliamy,” the Eagle reported.
