‘How the Earth Got Its Color’ at Gumbo

“How the Earth Got Its Color,” presented by Drama of Works (DOW) Puppet Theatre, is an energetic retelling of an Aztec creation story, appropriate for all ages, especially very young to middle school. Follow Wind as he finds his place in the pantheon of Aztec gods when the Lord of the Night entrusts him to save the Musicians of the Earth from the Palace of the Sun God.

With the help of the audience and various characters along the way, Wind finds the courage to use his unique gifts to do right by the people of the Earth.

Two 30-minute performances take place on Sunday, Jan. 29, at 2 and 4 p.m. at Gumbo, 493 Atlantic Ave. (between Nevins and Third). Cost: $15 adults, $5 siblings. Reservations are required.  Call Gumbo at 718-855-7808. www.gumbobrooklyn.blogspot.com
