It’s not just fun and games for St. Anselm School students on “Sports Day.”

This year’s participants were asked to donate toiletries for those less fortunate in exchange for the chance to run around the gym with their classmates, competing in lighthearted events and contests.

Physical Education teacher Steven Raimondo set up a variety of events, from kicking drills to relay races to basketball skill competitions, and smiled as his students gave it their all.

“Sports Day” was a highlight of the school’s annual Catholic Schools Week celebration, during which the creativity and accomplishments of the children were put on display for the entire community to see.Eighth-grader Mike Rossetti runs around an obstacle during a relay race.

In addition to the athletic events, students participated in an opening mass, a talent show, “Buddy Day,” “Career Day” and “St. Anselm and Me Apron Day.” And those were just some of the highlights!
