During Hurricane Sandy, lines stretched out the door as New York Methodist Hospital in Park Slope provided free breakfast and lunch for employees. Meanwhile, all hands were on deck in the hospital’s Emergency Department throughout the storm. The hospital began emergency operations at 2 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, and many hospital employees arrived with overnight bags in tow. New York Methodist also dispatched shuttle buses throughout Brooklyn to bring staff members to work.
