A state program that promotes New York’s farmers and craft producers is expanding to Brooklyn.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Tuesday announced details of the proposed expansion of the Taste NY program. These include a branch office in Brooklyn, opening online and brick-and-mortar shops, and placing vending machines on SUNY and CUNY campuses.

A new mobile phone application will soon be released through I LOVE NY, the governor’s office said, and Taste NY displays will be placed in New York state liquor stores to promote the state’s wine products. A new Taste NY store, operated by One Woman Winery, opened at Grand Central Terminal on Tuesday.

The “Taste NY Office at Brooklyn” office is dedicated to “strengthening the connection between upstate producers and downstate consumers,” the governor’s office said in a release. The office is located at 55 Hanson Place, at the downstate wing of the Department of Agriculture and Markets.

“We launched the Taste NY program to highlight the world-class products that our food and beverage producers have to offer, and in doing so have boosted the profiles and sales of a wide variety of small business owners,” Cuomo said. “Now we’re going to take our support to the next level, and plant the seeds for continued growth for seasons to come.”
