Authorities say an ex-convict who appears to be a rabbi is accused of impersonating a law enforcement officer.

NBC New York says Avroham Gross, formerly known as Latin Kings member Roberto Eddy Santos, faces dozens of charges.

Brooklyn prosecutors allege he used a badge and fake documents.

Authorities say he pretended to represent a non-existent child abuse prevention task force. They say there’s no current evidence he had contact with children.

They also allege he used lights and siren to pull over a New Jersey Transit bus.

DA Kenneth Thompson says investigators are looking into whether he really converted to Hasidic Judaism after serving time for violent robberies.

His lawyer said Gross has pleaded not guilty but declined further comment.
