Brooklyn’s Maronite Catholics to hold fundraising dinner
Money is needed to repair Our Lady of Lebanon Cathedral
Members of the Eparchy of Saint Maron of Brooklyn, a religious group within the Catholic Church, will gather for a dinner on Oct. 23 to raise money to pay for structural repairs to their cathedral.
The dinner, the Eparchy’s fifth annual event, will take place Thursday at the Catholic Archdiocese of New York’s main building at 1011 First Ave. in Manhattan, starting at 6:30 p.m. Over 200 guests are expected to attend the dinner.
Following a cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m., the dinner will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $250 per person. Table sponsorships are available at $5,000, $10,000 and $15,000. Additional donations are also accepted.
Proceeds from the dinner will be used to repair Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Cathedral at 113 Remsen St. in downtown Brooklyn. Funds raised at the dinner will also be used to educate seminarians, support parishes and missions, and assist retired priests, according to the event’s organizers.
