An award-winning documentary recalling the bygone “stickball” era of Brooklyn has landed a distribution deal with a new company cataloging important films relating to the borough.

“When Broomsticks Were King,” by Jason Cusato, chronicles the director’s father, Vincent, and his childhood companions from 5th Street in Park Slope, who were all recently inducted into the Stickball Hall of Fame.

The film will be available via Brooklyn-on-Demand (BKoD), a video-on-demand service created in partnership with the Art of Brooklyn Film Festival (AoBFF). The independent, international film festival is focused on Brooklynborn, Brooklyn-based and Brooklyn-centric films and filmmakers and screens work from all over the world.

Powered by Vimeo, BKoD is a showcase for AoBFF Official Selections and films that represent the diverse voices of the world-famous Brooklyn independent creative scene.
