In Fort Greene, even the fixer-uppers are fabulous.

Get a look at our photos of 6 S. Oxford St. There is such grandeur despite the plywood in the windows. The little face on the crumbling stoop is so serene.

Another dignified brownstone, 13 S. Elliott Place, needs a new roof — a repair that the Landmarks Preservation Commission has okayed. In the meantime, the house seems to be something of a pigeon roost.

Our eye is always drawn to historic frame houses, So of course the beauty behind the construction fence at 231 Cumberland St. got our attention.

A frame house at 250 Cumberland St. looks like it’s had a rough time. But a construction crew was there the other day, diligently working.
