ON THIS DAY in 1905, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled “Law Student’s Burglar Police Think is a Myth.” The article focused on a Brooklyn Law School student being shot by a “masked burglar.”
“Isidor Rosenberg, a young law student, who [was] attending lectures in the Brooklyn Law School in the Eagle Building, was shot in the neck this morning … ” the Eagle reported.  “He says a masked burglar got at him, but the police of the Liberty Avenue station … are inclined to believe that there was no burglar at all.”
