Three Catholic parishes in Brooklyn Heights joined forces on Oct. 26 for a Procession for Peace. Praying the rosary for peace in torn parts of the Middle East, particularly Israel, Lebanon and Syria, the participants walked solemnly from St. Charles Borromeo Church (Roman/Latin Rite) on Sidney Place to Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church on Cranberry Street. On the way, the group paused at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Cathedral on Henry Street so parishioners could join the procession. Msgr. James Root, dean of Our Lady of Lebanon Cathedral, told the Brooklyn Eagle after the event that more than 100 participated in the procession, which concluded with Benediction, remarks from the three pastors and a reception.
