SAUDI ARABIA — Muslims Pray at Holy Forgiveness Mountain: Muslim pilgrims gather to pray at Jabal Al Rahma holy mountain, or the mountain of forgiveness, during the annual pilgrimage, known as the hajj, near Mecca, Saudi Arabia, on Friday. An estimated 2 million Muslims are streaming into a sprawling tent city near Mecca for the annual hajj pilgrimage. Saudi Arabia banned hajj and work visas this year for people from Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea as a precaution to avoid the spread of Ebola during hajj, which sees massive crowds of people from around the world gather in Mecca.

NEW YORK — 84th Precinct and Local Seniors Visit Bronx Zoo: On Oct. 1, members of the 84th Precinct Community Council toured the Bronx Zoo with 35 seniors from the St. Jubilee Senior Center in Brooklyn Heights. Leslie Lewis, President of the 84th Precinct Community Council, recently told the Brooklyn Daily Eagle, “I believe that Community Council should mix police with communities to do things together.”
