Cops, firefighters are in Golden’s corner
Unions endorse state senator’s re-election bid
State Sen. Golden, a retired police officer, has won the support of cops and firefighters in his bid for a seventh term in office. Golden, who has represented the 22nd Senate District (Bay Ridge-southwest Brooklyn) since 2002, was recently endorsed by both the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association and the Uniformed Firefighters Association.
The longtime lawmaker was also endorsed by Local 2507, a union representing paramedics. EMTs and fire inspectors.
PBA President Pat Lynch said Golden has a special understanding of what the members of New York’s Finest go through when they are protecting the public. “As a former police officer from a family of police officers, who better understands the hard work and daily stress members of the police service undergo than Senator Marty Golden? Together with the many pieces of pro law enforcement legislation that take and keep criminals off our streets that Senator Golden has sponsored and supported, he is the perfect choice for the members of our 22,000 member organization,” Lynch said.
