A national road-race organization says it has won approval to stage a Rock ‘n’ Roll half-marathon in Brooklyn next fall.

The executive vice president of global events for Competitor Group Inc. tells the Wall Street Journal the race will cover 13.1 miles next October.

Josh Furlow says the exact date, course and size are still under discussion.

The company stages about 30 half-marathon-to-marathon-length Rock ‘n’ Roll races annually. The name refers to the live-music entertainment along the race course and finish line.

The city’s official tourism bureau, NYC & Company, said in a statement that the race “is a great fit for New York City.”

The Brooklyn borough president’s office didn’t respond to a request for confirmation.
