Three judges were re-elected to the bench, and another is set to take the bench in January in the 2014 midterm election cycle.

New to the bench will be Lara Genovesi, daughter of the late Brooklyn legislator Anthony Genovesi, who currently works in the court system. In an unusual step, Genovesi bypassed a term on the Civil Court bench and was selected by the judicial convention to appear on the November ballot.

Returning to the bench are Justices Evelyn Laporte, Wavny Toussiant and Kathy King.
