ON THIS DAY in 1906, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled “Burnam is Sentenced to Two Years in Prison.” The article focused on the vice president of an insurance company who was convicted of grand larceny.
“George Burnham Jr., counsel and vice president of the Mutual Reserve Life Insurance Company, who was convicted a week ago of grand larceny, was this morning sentenced to States Prison for two years by Justice Greenbaum in the Criminal Branch of the Supreme Court,” the Eagle reported.
