BAM’s popular Eat, Drink & Be Literary series, presented in partnership with the National Book Foundation, enters its second decade and will host eight top-notch writers from Jan. 27 through June 10. This season’s lineup features a culturally and stylistically diverse group of participants.

Several participants were born outside the U.S., including Dinaw Mengestu (Ethiopia) and Joseph O’Neill (Ireland). Mengestu will be featured at BAM on Jan. 27, and O’Neill will be featured on April 29.

Tiphanie Yanique, who will be featured on March 3, grew up in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Chris Ware (April 21) tells stories with graphics, and Man Booker International Prize-winner Lydia Davis (March 18) largely invented the “super-short short story” genre.

Two Pulitzer Prize winners — Michael Cunningham (March 11) and Jane Smiley (June 2) — are among the guests of honor. The series finishes with Rachel Kushner (June 10), whose two novels are both finalists for the National Book Award.

Each writer will read from their work, share inspirations, creative process and anecdotes with the audience over dinner. These events offer literary devotees — writers and readers alike — the chance to socialize in an informal setting that also encourages in-depth discussions.

Doors open at 6 p.m., and the events begin at 6:30 p.m. with live music and wine followed by a buffet dinner presented by restaurateur Great Performances.

The program features authors reading from their works, followed by a discussion with the moderators (Deborah Treisman and Lorin Stein), a Q&A with the audience and a book signing. Greenlight Bookstore will provide books for purchase at the BAM kiosk.

Tickets for Eat, Drink & Be Literary are $60, which includes admission to the reading, dinner, wine, tax and tip. Subscription (four or more) tickets are $51.

Tickets can be purchased by calling BAM Ticket Services at 718-636-4100 or by visiting BAM.org. Tickets also may be purchased in person (except for subscription tickets) at the BAM Box Office.
