11th Season to Feature Michael Cunningham, Jane Smiley, Others
BAM’s popular Eat, Drink & Be Literary series, presented in partnership with the National Book Foundation, enters its second decade and will host eight top-notch writers from Jan. 27 through June 10. This season’s lineup features a culturally and stylistically diverse group of participants.
Several participants were born outside the U.S., including Dinaw Mengestu (Ethiopia) and Joseph O’Neill (Ireland). Mengestu will be featured at BAM on Jan. 27, and O’Neill will be featured on April 29.
Tiphanie Yanique, who will be featured on March 3, grew up in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Chris Ware (April 21) tells stories with graphics, and Man Booker International Prize-winner Lydia Davis (March 18) largely invented the “super-short short story” genre.
