In The Navy: Brooklyn woman serving on assault ship in Southeast Asia
U.S. Navy Petty Officer Shrese Davis, a native of Brooklyn, is seeing the world from aboard the amphibious assault ship U.S.S. Makin Island.
Davis graduated from Pacific High School in 2004 and enlisted into the Navy the following year.
“I wanted to visit new places and meet new people and the Navy gave me that opportunity,” she said.
Davis is currently serving as an aviation boatswain’s mate (fuels) second class and is responsible for fueling all aircraft and aviation equipment aboard the U.S.S. Makin Island.
