Bratton: No violence anticipated following Eric Garner grand jury decision
Police Commissioner William Bratton said Wednesday morning on “CBS This Morning” he doesn’t anticipate any violence in New York City once a grand jury decides whether to indict an officer in the chokehold death of Eric Garner. That decision was made Wednesday afternoon, and the NYPD officer was not indicted in Garner’s death.
Bratton was asked on “CBS This Morning” if what happened in Ferguson, Missouri, could happen in New York.
He says the NYPD has been preparing for months “in multiple ways,” including community meetings.
