Barclays Center forms Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment Advisory Board

Barclays Center has formed the Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment Advisory Board, a group of nearly 30 top sports, entertainment, and media industry executives, as well as entertainment personalities. Created by Brett Yormark, CEO of Barclays Center, and Charlie Walk, Executive Vice President of Republic Records at Universal Music Group, the Advisory Board will contribute to the programming strategy and direction for Barclays Center, the soon to be recreated Nassau Coliseum, and future venues.

In addition to sharing their overall expertise, the Advisory Board members will be part of the planning for many upcoming major Barclays Center events, including NBA All-Star 2015, the ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament, the 2016 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, and other world-class events to be announced soon.

“In just two years, Barclays Center has established itself as a world-class venue that has hosted the best artists and some of the biggest events,” said Barclays Center and Brooklyn Nets CEO Brett Yormark, who is Co-Chair of the Advisory Board.  “While we are thrilled with our progress, we always want to get better. That’s why we have established an elite group from the sports and entertainment industry to share their expertise to further develop Barclays Center as a global destination, while also contributing to the launch and future of Nassau Coliseum.” 

“The creation of the Barclays Center Sports & Entertainment Advisory Board enables a diversified group of specialists in their fields to drive entrepreneurial ideas and concepts into the Barclays Center platform,” said Charlie Walk, Co-Chair of the Advisory Board. “Our goal is to further enhance consumer experiences, as well as to bring new concepts and partners to the forefront of modern day live entertainment.”
