It was one of the most buzzworthy nights in Brooklyn in a long time. In addition to protests outside and several basketball players, including LeBron James, wearing I Can’t Breathe t-shirts, the royal family was in Brooklyn to attend a Brooklyn Nets game. Prince William and Princess Kate conducted a press conference with the NBA to promote African conservation efforts with former basketball star Dikembe Mutombo and then went courtside in the lights and the glamour. They even met Brooklyn royalty, Jay-Z and Beyonce, during the second half of the game. Here are some photos that encapsulated the evening:

The game began and the royal couple met with NBA commissioner Adam Silver and Mutombo to promote conservation in Africa.

Then, the royal couple arrives on the court to huge cheers and awe from the crowd and the iPhone paparazzi.

Everyone is snapping away as Will and Kate make their royal procession down the sideline.

The royal couple then settled into their seats. By this point the crowd is more fixated on them than the actual game they’re attending.

Oh, hey! It’s the royal couple on the Barclays Center scoreboard.

Fans could not stop cheering and snapping their own pics of the royal couple’s very public scoreboard appearance.

This is Kate’s first basketball game, so she’s probably asking Mutombo what’s going on.

It seems like something has grabbed Prince William’s pointed interest in this game.

Jay-Z and Beyonce make their way across the court for the big royal meetup.

The Royal family met Jay-Z and Beyonce between the third and fourth quarters at the Nets-Cavs game Monday night. Here, Prince William and Jay-Z get acquainted.

After the game, the royal couple met basketball’s king, LeBron James.

James hands the royal couple one Cleveland Cavaliers jersey for Cambridge and one tiny outfit for their son George.
