New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio says everyone must follow laws, but he won’t question his drivers’ judgment after video footage showed his official vehicle breaking several traffic laws as he sat in the front seat.

De Blasio said Monday that “no one is above the law.” But he says he won’t second-guess the police officers who drive him or question their security protocols.

The mayor also says does not believe the video undermines his recently launched traffic safety campaign.

WCBS-TV spotted the mayor’s two-SUV caravan speeding and running stop signs Thursday.

De Blasio refused to answer questions Friday about the incident. He deferred then to Police Commissioner William Bratton, who said he wasn’t “overly concerned” by the footage.

De Blasio didn’t have any public events over the weekend.
