Upward and onward in Brooklyn public affairs: Spitalnick, Bloch, Moore moving to new positions
After nearly three years working for Senator Daniel Squadron, Amy Spitalnick will be leaving her job as his communications director this Friday. She made the announcement via email.
On Monday, Spitalnick will start as Director of Public Affairs for Mayor de Blasio’s Office of Management and Budget, where she’ll be focused on “communications for the city budget, the state budget as it pertains to the city, and Sandy relief and recovery efforts.”
Calling the transition “bittersweet,” Spitalnick said, “It’s been an honor to work for an elected official as dedicated, talented, and effective as Daniel — he’s one of the really good guys in politics, and I’m proud to call him a mentor and a friend.”
