“Paige In Full,” coming to Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) for its Brooklyn debut on March 14, is a unique brother/sister duo created by Paige Hernandez (writer and performer) and Nick tha 1da (musician).

In the performance, Hernandez expresses herself through the language of hip-hop, mixing spoken word and poetry, dance, and live music with the help of her brother Nick, who provides the musical support for her story.

The high energy, coming-of-age story tells Hernandez’s personal yet universal tale as a multicultural girl growing up in Baltimore, MD. The themes she tackles are all too familiar for any young teen currently dealing with issues of self-acceptance, or for those who have overcome such issues. Hernandez performs with humor, honesty and vulnerability — all of which speak to teens and tweens, an age group that tends to be underrepresented in live theater.

To create “Paige in Full,” Hernandez and her brother worked with Danielle A. Drakes (director) and Bryan Joseph Lee (dramaturg) to develop a story that speaks to a dynamic hip-hop-influenced generation.

The March 14 performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. at BAM Fisher (Fishman Space, 321 Ashland Place). Tickets are $12 and the event is open to age 12 and up.
