St. Patrick’s Easter Hat Parade brings out kids’ creativity
Head gear had eggs, flashing lights, even a church replica
Students at St. Patrick Catholic Academy in Bay Ridge got a jump on the Easter holiday by creating their own bonnets for the school’s annual Easter Hat Parade.
A fun twist on traditional Easter bonnets, these hats, custom-made by the students, featured all sorts of decorations, some edible! Some students put eggs and marshmallow peeps on their hats. Others decorated their hats with flashing lights, replicas of St. Patrick Church, stuffed bunnies and just about anything else they could think of to fit on top of their heads.
Each class lined up and marched around the auditorium in the school at 401 97th St. to model their creations for a panel of judges, as well as parents, teachers and visitors.
