Summer time, when the living is easy ….

You heard it here first: it’s looking like both of Brooklyn’s new Shake Shack locations will open in mid-summer.

That’s what Greg Waters, the spokesman for Danny Meyer’s popular burger chain, just revealed to the Brooklyn Eagle.

“At this point it looks like DUMBO will open first, followed by Flatbush Avenue,” Waters told the Brooklyn Eagle via email.

So servers at the 1 Old Fulton St. Shake Shack location will likely be dishing up frozen custard and milkshakes to crowds seeking to beat the summer heat in Brooklyn Bridge Park, which is just across the street.

We recently scoped out the construction work that’s underway at the landmarked location. And as the Eagle reported earlier this week, it looks like there’s a lot of work to be done there and at 170 Flatbush Ave. in Park Slope, across from Barclays Center, where builders only recently got down to business.

Comfort-food fans who can’t get enough of the hand-cut French fries and freshly-ground beef burgers at Brooklyn’s sole Shack Shack on the Fulton Mall are eagerly awaiting the opening of the other two restaurants.

But they shouldn’t absolutely, one thousand percent count on curing their summertime blues on Flatbush Avenue or Old Fulton Street with Shake Shack’s flat-top hot dogs and fried portobello mushroom burgers.

Last fall, Meyer’s people expected late spring debuts for the two locations. That didn’t pan out. The mid-summer thing might not, either.

“Opening dates are always a moving target,” Waters cautioned.
