Brooklyn gives beloved judge a ‘Hollywood’ farewell
Brooklyn Judge Patricia DiMango received a grand farewell as she continued to prepare for her role as a Hollywood TV judge.
DiMango, former Administrative Judge for Criminal Matters, Kings County, was tapped earlier this year to co-star in the CBS show “Hot Bench.” Upon her decision to see her name in lights, DiMango retired from the Brooklyn bench after over 30 years of public service.
Brooklyn came together on Friday, April 4, to host a farewell celebration to acknowledge DiMango’s illustrious judicial career. Held at Battery Gardens in lower Manhattan, the guest list topped off at 260 attendees. “The amount of people that walked in the door to celebrate this moment spoke volumes to the type of person she is,” Marianne Bertuna, a Brooklyn attorney, told the Brooklyn Daily Eagle. “There were members from all aspects of the criminal justice system: court officers, court clerks, defense attorneys, prosecutors, court reporters and court secretaries,” Bertuna further noted.
