Brooklyn veteran named to New York State Senate Veteran’s Hall of Fame

Brooklyn veteran Danylo Rakowsky, who continues to serve his fellow veterans after his military service, has been named to the 2014 New York State Senate Vereran’s Hall of Fame.
Nominated by state Senator Daniel Squadron, Specialist E-4 Rakowsky, who served with honor in Iraq, has earned The Army Commendation Medal, The Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, The National Defense Service Medal and The Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
The youngest of three, Danylo Rakowsky was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Roman – an honorably discharged Vietnam Veteran – and Christina Rakowsky. In 2000, Danylo enlisted in the Army National Guard while attending college. He completed basic training and advanced individual training in South Carolina and drilled out of Akron.
