Top pols tapped as Grand Marshals for Brooklyn Pride

Four top city officials have been confirmed as Grand Marshals for this year’s Brooklyn Pride Parade.

Mayor Bill de Blasio, Public Advocate Letitia James, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and NYC Councilman Carlos Menchaca will march during the 18th Annual Pride Celebration. This year’s event is themed “Coming of Age.”

The Brooklyn Pride Parade takes place on June 14, culminating a week of Pride events kicking off on June 9 with a flag-raising ceremony over Brooklyn Borough Hall. The kick-off brings together Brooklyn LGBTQ+ organizations, Borough President Eric Adams and speakers District Attorney Kenneth Thompson and City Councilman Carlos Menchaca. This afternoon event will include a color guard of LGBT veterans, entertainment and more.

The  Twilight Pride Parade starts at 7:30 p.m. on 5th Avenue at Lincoln Place, ending at 9th Street. RonB emcees as Tina Turner. Acclaimed background singer Karen Bernod will perform on the 9th Avenue Stage.

The week’s events include an Interfaith Service, Open House & LGBTQ Art Exhibit, Pride Reception with BP Adams, author discussion, the Pride 5K Run, Multicultural Festival, kids’ events and more.
