F train reigns as most delayed subway line

The F train led the MTA electronic alert system for the most delayed incidents in 2013, according to a release from NYPIRG’s Straphangars Campaign. The F accounted for eight percent of the total incidents overall.

The J/Z line was the line that encountered the fewest delays, improving nine percent from last year. Incidents of delays in Brooklyn were up a staggering 39 percent year over year, according to the Campaign, while most of the delays, 35 percent of them, were due to “mechanical problems.” The occurrence of mechanical delays are up 51 percent since 2011.
