It is a maxim of civilized society that we love all our children equally. When it comes to buildings, however, we’re allowed to play favorites.

Here are some Bay Ridge houses that caught our admiring eye.

The famed, fairy-tale-worthy Gingerbread House is not included because last week we published 10 photos of it.
