Police say a gunman killed himself after wounding two people and keeping officers at bay for two hours in Brooklyn.
The standoff began at about 11:20 a.m. Monday at an iron works.
Police say the man shot two employees before barricading himself in a back room. The victims were hospitalized in stable condition.
Police say the suspect also caused a scare by tossing out something that looked like a pipe bomb. They say they tried to negotiate a surrender, but he ended up turning his handgun on himself.
Update: The incident took place in an iron factory on 13th Street between Hamilton Place and Second Avenue. The victims were taken to Lutheran Medical Center in Sunset Park, according to NY1.
