Looking good!

Here’s a peek behind the construction fence at the Oosten in South Williamsburg.

Eye on Real Estate scored a hard-hat tour of the condo development at 429 Kent Ave. — and our photographer colleague Rob Abruzzese came with us.

An estimated 40 workers are hard at it, taking the first steps of building a glam 216-unit apartment house with an indoor swimming pool and six-bedroom penthouses.

When the project ramps up, more than 200 workers will be on the job.

“We’re building a bathtub,” explained Robert Seda, project manager for Wonder Works Construction Corp. “There’s gravel for draining, waterproofing for protection, then concrete.”

In the center of the Oosten there will be a big courtyard with a 10,000-plus square-foot grass lawn — so the work at the site is being done clockwise from the outside in, Seda said.

During our visit, some workers were constructing a ramp for a parking garage on the Kent Avenue side of the property. Others were starting to construct the ground floor’s floor on its Kent Avenue and S. 8th Street corner.

On the site’s Wythe Avenue side, a location has been marked out for the mechanical room beneath the swimming pool.

An excavator bit into the soil on the S. 9th Street side of the property. By the way, the developer will rebuild and reopen this street, which has been closed to the public for a looong time.
