‘Boardwalk Empire’ brings prohibition, mobsters to Brooklyn Heights
The acclaimed HBO hit “Boardwalk Empire,” starring Steve Buscemi, Michael Pitt, Kelly Macdonald, Michael Shannon and many others, used Brooklyn Heights as a set on Friday for the second-to-the-last episode of its final season.
Monroe Place at Pierrepont Street was transformed into the Prohibition era, with vehicles from 1931, a newsstand selling the Times for two cents, a surprisingly realistic subway entrance, and a large cast of costumed mobsters, bootleggers, and molls.
According to signs posted in the area, filming continues in Brooklyn Heights on Monday.
