ON THIS DAY in 1920, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled “Says Tooth in Lung Killed Wife; Sues Dentist for $60,000.”
The article focused on a Brooklyn man who planned to sue a dentist for negligence.
“Dr. Victor W. Crossman, a dentist of 136 Fort Greene Pl. is the defendant in two actions for damages brought against him by George R. Minns of Brooklyn who charges that the death of his wife, Cora Minns, which occurred on May 24 at the Brooklyn Hospital, was due to the negligence of the dentist in allowing one of the 10 teeth, which he extracted for her a month prior to her death, to fall into her windpipe…” the article reported.
