“Summertime and the living is easy,” George Gershwin wrote. Well, the music is easy, too, especially if you live in southwest Brooklyn.

State Sen. Marty Golden (R-C-Bay Ridge-southwest Brooklyn), in partnership with the Southwest Brooklyn Parks Task Force, is sponsoring a summer concert series in parks in his senate district.

The first show took place Tuesday night in Shore Road Park in Bay Ridge.

The series of fourteen concerts will feature an array of musical acts performing in different styles, everything from rock, jazz, blues, disco and even a touch of Frank Sinatra.
