Fariña: Dozens of NYC schools to buddy up in Learning Partners Program
22 Brooklyn schools join initiative
Dozens of New York City public schools are joining a program that partners schools that have demonstrated strength in a particular area with schools seeking to build their strength in that area.
On Monday, Schools Chancellor Carmen Fariña said that 73 schools have been selected to join the selective Learning Partners Program.
Fariña has long advocated for collaboration in education. As head of Brooklyn’s then-Region 8 in 2003, her successful transformation of P.S. 8 in Brooklyn Heights included pairing P.S. 8 with powerhouse P.S. 29 in Cobble Hill as its “sister school.”
In Learning Partners, schools are grouped in bunches of three, called “triads.”
