Brooklyn Bridge Park unveils 14 design proposals for Pier 6
On Wednesday, the Brooklyn Bridge Park Corporation released details of 14 different design proposals for residential development at two sites near Pier 6, at the foot of Atlantic Avenue.
The proposals were submitted in response to an RFP issued in May, and are intended to generate funding to maintain the park – an idea challenged by some local residents in a lawsuit attempting to block the towers.
Brooklyn Bridge Park, unlike other major parks in New York City, operates under a mandate to be financially self-sustaining.
Brooklyn Bridge Park Corporation members were set to discuss the issue at a meeting at Borough Hall Wednesday afternoon. (Check back here at BrooklyneEgle.com for updates.)
