Greetings, Brooklyn. Today is the 287th day of the year.

ON THIS DAY IN 1913, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled “Censoring the Movies.”

The article focused on the question of censorship in showing movies in the presence of children.

“The Unity Child’s Welfare Association will hold a special meeting at the Unity Parish House, 9 Irving Place… at which there will be a conference on the advisability of a censorship of moving picture films by the city, state or nation,” the Eagle reported.
