Rollin’, rollin’, rollin’ on the river.

The East River, thank you very much.

The other day we went to visit a new arrival on the Greenpoint waterfront, Brooklyn Barge Bar.

Fortunately, it was a day that wasn’t plagued by buckets of rain. We could hear the irresistible call of the India Street pier, where New York Waterway’s East River ferry terminal is located. It’s just a few blocks away from Brooklyn Barge Bar.

The ferry chugged past the barge, and headed down to Williamsburg, then DUMBO.

Though the skies were overcast, it was a thoroughly satisfying way to see architectural eye candy.

Such splendid scenery on both sides of the shoreline, with Manhattan skyscrapers on one side and landmarks like the Domino Sugar factory and the River Café on the other.
