Two of Crown Heights’ local gems have recently joined forces. Morris, best known for its award-winning grilled cheese truck, The Morris Truck, has partnered with the Brooklyn Children’s Museum (BCM) to provide food and beverage service for the museum’s café.

The BCM was the first children’s museum in the nation, established in 1899. Designed to be a hands-on, interactive space dedicated to helping children learn about the world, the museum is now a Brooklyn institution and a pillar of the community. To help support that standing, and on the heels of its most recent renovation, the BCM is collaborating with Morris to bring the spirit of Brooklyn back into the café, elevating the dining experience for visitors with an infusion of local food.

Morris’ menu at the BCM will change with the seasons and is designed to please museum visitors of all ages, including a classic grilled cheese, as well as more unusual takes on the sandwich that include ingredients such as fennel butter, kale and truffle butter.

Stephanie Wilchfort, president and CEO of the museum, said the BCM “is thrilled to be partnering with Morris, a Crown Heights neighbor, to redevelop our Kids’ Café into a community hub for families. For many Brooklyn families, BCM is one of their first cultural excursions, and like many of the great museums in the city, we want to have a dining experience that complements the rest of the visitor experience.”

“We’re thrilled to join forces with such a fabled institution and to help better serve this community,” said Morris founder Michael Jacober, praising the partnership.

“Morris at BCM is raising the bar for the food families can expect to find at children’s museums,” added Wilchfort.

Morris opened for business within the Brooklyn Children’s Museum this past Saturday.
