Women who have not had mammograms will be able to get them for free on one of two dates in December, thanks to a partnership between the American Italian Cancer Foundation and state Sen. Marty Golden.

Golden announced that the American Italian Cancer Foundation will provide free digital mammograms and clinical breast exams on Dec. 2 and Dec. 10 in a van parked outside his district offices. The Mobile Care Clinic will be outside Golden’s office at 7408 Fifth Ave. in Bay Ridge on Wednesday, Dec. 2 and then on Thursday, Dec. 10 outside his office at 3604 Quentin Road in Marine Park.

The clinic will be open on both days from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Women over the age of 40, who are New York City residents and have not had a mammogram in the past year, are eligible for the free mammograms. Call 1-877-628-9090 for an appointment.

“I am proud to partner with the American Italian Cancer Foundation to make available free mammography screenings and bring public awareness to the importance of getting tested. All women are at risk of breast cancer and research shows that early detection of breast cancer saves lives. I encourage all those who have not had a mammogram in more than a year to make an appointment and get checked,” Golden said.
