MANILA — Journalists Remember Massacre: Journalists burn an effigy of President Benigno Aquino III riding a backhoe during a rally to commemorate the sixth anniversary of the massacre of 58 people, including 32 journalists, on Monday near the Presidential Palace. Members of the powerful Ampatuan clan, led by the deceased Andal Ampatuan Sr., were the prime suspects in the massacre of media workers in what was described as the deadliest single attack of media workers in the world. The backhoe became the symbol of the massacre after it was used to bury the victims and their vehicles.
