Brooklyn Heights will kick off a season of giving with DROP SHOP EXPERIENCE TASTE, a new program that invites New Yorkers to explore restaurants, shops and businesses along Montague Street and while patronizing the businesses, donate new and gently worn hats, gloves and scarves in designated DROP boxes. Donations will be given to neighbors in need and Brooklyn-based shelters and non-profits

Sponsored by the Montague Street Business Improvement District, DROP SHOP EXPERIENCE TASTE, kicks off on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 28 and runs through Dec. 28. On Small Business Saturday, Nov. 28, in the spirit of the season, merchants and businesses on Montague Street will offer special discounts, complimentary snacks and holiday cheer, free gifts with purchase, balloons for kids and more.

Keeping with tradition, there will also be Strolling Selfies with Santa and carols by The Grace Chorale Society all along Montague Street. Many businesses will continue to offer special DROP discounts and promotions through Dec. 28.

“The holidays are a time of thanks, giving and celebration. We hope all New Yorkers support their communities, keep it local and SHOP EXPERIENCE and TASTE along Montague Street. This is a time to show your support by DROPping hats, gloves and scarves in designated boxes to let our neighbors know we are here and want everyone in need to be warmer this winter,” said Kate Chura, executive director, Montague Street BID.
