‘Star Wars’ fever breaks out in Brooklyn

The Force is with us, big-time.

Brooklynites came down with a fierce case of “Star Wars” fever over the weekend.

North American ticket sales for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” hit $238 million — and folks all over B’KLYN contributed to that record box-office bonanza.

Fans of the fab film (and it was FAB, we can assure you!) showed up dressed as Stormtroopers to attend a showing at United Artists Court Street 12 and RPX Theater in Brooklyn Heights.

Before a showing at the Cobble Hill Cinemas, a police cruiser blaring the “Star Wars” theme song on a loud speaker drove by the crowd that was lined up, waiting to get in. Everybody cheered.

Days in advance, showings were sold out for the Steinberg Screen at BAM Harvey Theater in the Brooklyn Cultural District. People who were lucky enough to get tickets watched the dramas of Princess — no, make that General — Leia (Carrie Fisher), Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and a new generation of intergalactic heroes (Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and Oscar Isaac) in 3-D.

“Star Wars” characters turned up in random locales — like Dyker Heights, where inflatable figures of Chewbacca, R2-D2 and C-3PO adorn an 82nd Street homeowner’s lawn, and department store Century 21 in Bay Ridge, which is selling backpacks shaped like winsome droid BB-8.
