Greetings, Brooklyn. Today is the 364th day of the year.

ON THIS DAY IN 1927, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled “Autopsy Reveals Actress Slain by Crushing Blows.”

The article focused on vaudevillian actress Mary Harrington, 29, whose autopsy showed she was murdered.

“The murderer had beaten the woman with a blunt instrument until her head was battered out of shape, the autopsy showed,” the Eagle reported. “… Death was directly caused by brain hemorrhage, resulting from these blows.”
