Brooklyn man sentenced to 18 years for Bay Ridge stabbing death
Stabbed Wife Following Argument in Bay Ridge Apartment
A 54-year-old Bay Ridge man who admitted stabbing his wife to death in 2014 has been sentenced to serve 18 years in prison, Brooklyn District Attorney Ken Thompson announced on Dec. 9.
Hasan Rugova had pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in the death of his wife Gyltene Rugova, 46. The defendant was sentenced to a determinate term of 18 years in prison and five years of post-release supervision by New York State Supreme Court Justice John Ingram.
The fatal stabbing took place inside the couple’s apartment at 101 Marine Ave. on May 20, 2014, following an argument inside of their apartment.
The couple argued after Gyltene revealed that she wanted a divorce, Thompson said.
