ISRAEL —  Conflict Between Countries Remains: In this Nov. 29 photo, Palestinian protesters throw stones at Israeli troops during clashes following a demonstration to demand the release of bodies of Palestinian attackers being held by Israeli authorities, in the West Bank city of Ramallah. Almost daily, ordinary Palestinians — many in their teens and without political affiliations — carry out what are essentially suicide missions. Yet most attacks appear to be spontaneous, lacking a guiding hand or clear tactical goal.

SOUTH KOREA — Santa Goes Underwater: A diver dressed in a Santa Claus costume performs with sardines at the Coex Aquarium on Wednesday.

FRANCE — Costumed Protesters Rally for Clean Energy: The global citizen’s movement group Avaaz performs a Star Wars themed stunt with Yoda and two storm-troopers posing in front of a mini red Eiffel Tower replica in Le Bourget on Wednesday. The protest, during the COP21, is rallying for the Paris climate agreement to put the world on course for clean energy.
