ON THIS DAY in 1910, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled “Loyal Sons of Ireland, Ready to Brave Storm, March Under Sunny Sky.”

The article focused on a Brooklyn St. Patrick’s Day parade, where thousands gathered on Bedford Avenue.

“When the sun came out from behind the clouds at 2:30 o’clock this afternoon, the very hour fixed for the start of the St. Patrick’s Day parade, the heart of every Irishman leapt with joy and the Weather Bureau was once more put in the wrong,” the Eagle reported.
