Brooklyn man sentenced to 47 years to life in prison for quadruple gang-related shooting
4 Teens Shot at Marcy Houses, 1 Dead and 3 Injured
A Brooklyn judge has sentenced a 21-year-old man to a lengthy prison term for causing the death of one and injury to three others during a basketball tournament at a public housing complex.
Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Sheryl Parker on Wednesday handed the defendant, Brandon Reese, a sentence of 47 years to life in prison. Reese was convicted last month for second degree murder, assault, weapons possession and other related charges.
“Today’s sentence should serve as a warning that shooting and killing people on the streets of Brooklyn will not be tolerated,” Brooklyn District Attorney Ken Thompson said in a released statement. “An 18-year-old boy is dead and three other teens were shot all because this defendant decided to commit senseless and terrible acts of violence.”
